OWH Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #155

Good Evening --

I hope everyone had fun playing with this sketch.  It posed a real challenge for me -- started on few and this is what I ended up creating.   I am going to try a couple more of these during the week and if they turn out okay I may post them later this week.

I had a request from for more information on the image that I used on Wednesday's Midweek Throwdown challenge - "Sentiment Free" cards.  The image is from A.T.C. Military Collection from Memories in the Making.  I used S.U. card stock, ribbon and Framelit Hearts Collection dies.  I also used a little cheese cloth that I tea died to add a little more texture.

Thanks for stopping in and sharing your thoughts.

Have a wonderful and blessed week.

Sharon

Now on to today's challenge --

On this card I used S.U. sentiment from "Loving Thoughts" and the image is from
"Serene Silhouettes" the oval was made with Framelits - Ovals collection.  The card stock
is from S.U. and the DP is from MME called 'Moments".  I saw that the strip across the oval
may block some of the image so I chose to use S.U. Vellum with the sentiment along with
a small snippet of Venice lace and a black brad to hold it.

Your lovely card shows no signs of a struggle with the sketch challenge! The vellum sentiment panel is a brilliant idea, and I love the touch of lace! It must have been something in the air that challenged so many with this sketch :)

I love, love, love how you used the see through vellum paper for the sentiment, to show off the design beneath. Brilliant! - Lori Law

Vellum! Why didn't I think of that!!! I just couldn't come up with anything for the center strip and ended up just using some thin ribbon. Great job!

Beautiful card! Vintage or Shabby Chic - nice touch with the lace. I think that the vellum is the perfect partner with your silhouette image. Love it!

What an elegant card. I love silhouettes and the vellum for the banner is brilliant. The lace add that extra touch of elegance. Thanks so much for playing!

Thank you for using vellum on your card. I loved it an copied it on mine! (I gave you credit on my blog!) That was a great way to let the design behind show through. Have a great week.

Beautiful card! I really like the yellow and black and the touch of lace is so feminine. I also like your idea to use vellum for the sentiment piece.
