Paper Players Challenge 128

Good Morning -- I decided to try a new challenge over at the paper players -- it was a tough one for me -- I found I had a real hard time with bold colors.  It took me FOREVER to put anything together and I am still not sure about my card but I thought I would post it anyway.  So here it is in all its' glory -- (lol) I tried to use mostly SU items with the exception of the ribbon -- this came from my scrap basket so I have no idea of its' manufacturer and a little bling on the butterfly.

Have a great day and thanks for letting me play along in your challenge.

OWH Midweek Throwdown Challenge - the Theme is Green

Good Afternoon

Here is my card for this color "green" challenge.  I thought I would make something for St. Patrick's Day so I started looking through my stash of St. Paddy Day stuff and I found an older digi that I had forgotten about  -  I think I got from Piddix in 2008.

Take some time to check out my fellow OWH'ers cards out too-- It sure is fun seeing everyone's green ideas, they are all so creative.

Thanks for stopping in and leaving a comment if you have a moment.

Enjoy the rest of your week --

Blessings,

Sharon S.

I think my digi is from Piddix 2008 -- the DP is from CTMH
I used SU Framelits - window Frames to frame the little girl.
The ribbon punch, vintage wallpaper embossing folder and
card stock are all from S.U.  The scallop edge is a punch from
M.S.  I used OWH Sketch #153.

OWH Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #155

Good Evening --

I hope everyone had fun playing with this sketch.  It posed a real challenge for me -- started on few and this is what I ended up creating.   I am going to try a couple more of these during the week and if they turn out okay I may post them later this week.

I had a request from for more information on the image that I used on Wednesday's Midweek Throwdown challenge - "Sentiment Free" cards.  The image is from A.T.C. Military Collection from Memories in the Making.  I used S.U. card stock, ribbon and Framelit Hearts Collection dies.  I also used a little cheese cloth that I tea died to add a little more texture.

Thanks for stopping in and sharing your thoughts.

Have a wonderful and blessed week.

Sharon

Now on to today's challenge --

On this card I used S.U. sentiment from "Loving Thoughts" and the image is from
"Serene Silhouettes" the oval was made with Framelits - Ovals collection.  The card stock
is from S.U. and the DP is from MME called 'Moments".  I saw that the strip across the oval
may block some of the image so I chose to use S.U. Vellum with the sentiment along with
a small snippet of Venice lace and a black brad to hold it.

OWH Stars & Stamps MidWeek Throwdown Challenge

Hello -- well it has been some time since my last post.  I have been working on cards but just can't seem to get them on my blog.  I admire those that blog everyday and get their work posted.  One of my New Year Resolutions is to do better with my blog.  So we shall see how this goes.

I am going to post a few cards that I've made for some of the challenges -- starting with this Wednesday's challenge.  This particular challenge asks for cards to be "Sentiment Free" for our Heroes to write home on.  This card also would qualify for the ODBD January Challenge -- to include dry embossing on our cards.

This next card is for Sketch Challenge 154
This card is for the the Midweek Throwdown Spring Flowers Challenge  (January 2, 2013)

And my last two for this post -- are going to two special people (I can't mention who they are going to as they may be looking on my blog)  One was made following Sketch Challenge 150 and the other I made from a sketch I saw in "Take Five" magazine.

This card I enjoyed making using some sea glass that my husband and I collected
while visiting Fort Bragg, CA.  I saw this technique in "Take Five" magazine and thought I
would like to give it a try.

Thanks for stopping in  -- hope you all have a great rest of the week.

Hugs,

Sharon

OWH Challenges

Good Thursday Afternoon,

Well it has been a few weeks since my last post.  (Ok - lots of weeks) We were visiting friends and family in Northern California and have now returned to our desert outpost.  I did manage to play along with one challenge while visiting my daughter, Dina.  We each made two cards -- using OWH Stars & Stamps Sketch 147 from November 18th.   Dina picked a stamp that I bought while visiting Alaska this summer -- she liked the bear and the heart.   Dina did the coloring as that is not my favorite thing to do. The cards also are perfect for this Wednesday's Midweek Throwdown Challenge -- making "Love" cards.

As you can see it has been since October 6th that I've posted my cards -- that is how far behind I am on my card making for the sketches.  Oh my gosh -- will I ever catch up????  Maybe after Christmas.

Anyway thanks for stopping in -- it is so nice to see friends and family but it is nice to be back home with all my crafty things too.

Have fun crafting and hugs,

Sharon
