OWH Sketch Challenge 161 and Midweek Recipe Mix

Good Saturday Afternoon,

Well I have been running behind all week.   Can't say why -- just been on the go and other things have been taking up my time, i.e. doctor appointments,  dentists, meetings, tax time, shopping, shopping and shopping LOL, other crafty endeavors, etc. etc.  I know no excuses -- there are so many that post every single day and I so admire them.  I will work at doing better with regular posts.

I made a couple of cards and a St. Patrick's Day Wreath for the front door.  My first card is for both the OWH Sketch Challenge 161 and the Midweek Recipe Challenge to use 1 Embossing Folder, 1 Border Punch or Die, 2 Patterned Papers and 1 Ribbon or Twine.  The second card I made for a friend's son  who is celebrating the birth of his first son.

I enjoyed having a wreath on the front door through the Christmas Holiday so I decided that I would keep a wreath on the front door all year.  So I made one for Valentine's Day and now St. Patrick's Day.   I will be working on my Easter wreath next.  I'll show you that one when it is finished.

I also did the random draw for those of you that posted a card on my blog for the OWH - Virtual Card Making Party.  And that lucky winner is:

#10 - Linda L at Creepin Along Blog

Congratulations -- I'll leave a post on your blog.  A big "thank you" to all of you that took the  all white/cream challenge.  You all did a great job meeting the challenge.

Whew -- I think I am all caught up until tomorrow when the OWH Sketch Challenge #162 will be out - Oh -- there is also the Our Daily Bread Design March Challenge to use a scallop on your card.  Also a reminder -- Mother's Day cards are due to the OWH Shippers on March 31st.  Okay - I think I am finished now.

Thanks for stopping in and blessing to all!

Sharon

OWH Stars & Stamps Midweek Throwdown Challenge

Good afternoon,

I really enjoyed seeing all the wonderful cards with this past Sunday's sketch challenge.   Our Hero's will love getting all of them.

This challenge is to use the colors green, blue and kraft or tan making our Hero's cards.

I thought I would participate in today's challenge using a new set of stamps that I purchased from SU.  While I was looking around in my stash of stuff to make the card for today's challenge -- low and behold I found a set of stamps I purchased at the Salvation Army in Idaho about 4 years ago.  The stamps have a date of 1997 --   I liked them but never really used them -- wasn't sure what to do with them as they are very long.  Once I saw them today  -- I thought, "these would work with this Sunday's sketch".    So I made three cards using 3 of the 4 stamps for this challenge.  Then  I  made another card with my new SU stamps.

For all the cards -- the DP is from SU, the two sentiments stamped on the blue are from Hero Arts, all other stamps and sentiments are from SU

Hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week.  Thanks to all of you for stopping in.

Sharon

Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #108

Good Sunday Afternoon,

Hope everyone is doing well -- I enjoyed this past week's Virtual Card Making Party.  I hope you did too.  I didn't finish all of the challenges -- but still had fun doing those that I did complete.

I like today's sketch -- I think it is a very easy sketch to do.  I made this card real simple  -- I used a Stampin' Up (Kanji) stamp set  and the Designer Paper is from K & Company, with a couple of scraps of card stock.

Thanks for stopping in -- hope you have a wonderful week!

Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #107

Good Sunday and Superbowl afternoon,

Hope everyone is enjoying today.  I worked on three cards this afternoon, two for today's sketch challenge and a CAS card.  After going through the Clean and Simple Skip this morning  -- I was inspired to try a CAS (clean and simple) card.

Between working on my cards and blog I've been running to see the commercials during the game.  Anyone else doing the same?  I hope to work on some more this evening too.

Thanks for stopping by -- enjoy the rest of today and have a fun crafting week.

Sharon

P.S.  For some reason this afternoon -- I wasn't able to download a copy of the sketch -- I'll keep trying -- At times I am so technically challenged with my blog.   I'll at least post the cards  :-)

The puppy and kitten stamp are from Dragon Fly Laser stamps the sentiment is
from Hero Arts and the DP and brad are from Stampin' Up.

On this card I turned the sketch around and moved the ribbon to the
other side.  I used a stamp from Dog Stamps Plus.  The DP is from Stampin' Up
as well as the small frame embosser and sentiment.

This my attempt at a CAS (clean and simple) card.  I used a diamond plate embossing folder
by Cuttlebug for the background.  I did some recycling and embossed on the inside of a bag that
holds my dog's chews.  I think it looks almost like real diamond plate.  I attached the bag material
to some inexpensive card stock first before embossing.  I used some scrap DP for a little color and
added some screw brads from Karen Foster.  This card is for a friend of ours who  loves diamond plate
and jeeps.

Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #104

Good evening

Wow another week and here we are in the middle of January.  How time goes by when your having fun.

This was a fun sketch -- at first I had a hard time finding stamps that would fit in the squares -- I found most of my stamps are a bit too big.  I will be on the lookout for some stamps that would be suitable for future challenges.  While looking through my stash of stuff I was lucky to find some butterfly stickers to use on a second card.

I also finished up a card from last weeks sketch challenge -- this card is for both the Wednesday's Floral Fantasy Challenge  and the January ODBD Challenge.

Thanks for taking the time to stop in -- hope you have a wonderful week.

Sharon

The owl card I used stamps from Hero Arts.  I sprayed a little Stampin Up smooch spritz to the kraft card stock.  I also added 3 feathers under the little bow.

This card I used DP from a Colorbok - Rosewood paper pad.  The card stock is from Stampin Up and the butterfly stickers are by Jolee's boutique.

This third card I finished today is from last weeks sketch (103).  I it made for both Wednesday's Floral Fantasy Challenge (make something with flowers) and the January ODDB Challenge (use three different DP).

The DP and the flowers are from K & Company.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Thanks again for stopping in.

OWH Stars and Stamps Sketch Challenge #73

Good Sunday afternoon.  It is getting warmer here in the desert and we are lovin' it.  I worked on a couple of cards today.  The angle on this sketch was interesting - I think tomorrow I am going to do some more cards and try to use up the scraps I created today making these two cards :-)

The red, black and white card I used Jenni Bowlin Red /Black paper.  The sentiment is a sticker from 7 Gypsies and I am unsure of the manufacturer of the bird image. The black cardstock was enhanced with a Martha Stewart lace punch.   I added a button and a black feather for fun.

The fishin' card I used Karen Foster plaid paper for the bottom and  the top I used paper from American Traditional Designs, Great Outdoors.  The sentiment is a stamp from Impression Obsession, Inc.  For fun on this card I added a real "fly hook" for the embellishment.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and have a fun crafting week.

Stars & Stamps OWH Sketch Challenge #69

Good Sunday Evening.  I have been busy working on another project today but I stopped  for a while to make at least one card for today's challenge.  This is a fun sketch and Brenda, this week's samplemaker, did a fantastic job with her sample cards.  Let's see how quickly we can get to our second million!!!!

Thanks for stopping in today -- have a wonderful week and Happy Card Making!

OWH Sketch 65 Challenge and MWT - Monochromatic Challenge

Thanks for stopping in this week --  I am behind schedule but still wanted to post some cards. We were out of town for five days and I didn't get any cards made while we were gone -- so doing my best to catch up I combined the Sketch 65 Challenge and the Monochromatic Challenge in a couple of my cards.

Here is OWH Sketch 65

The saying is a stamp from Penny Black, Inc.  The paper is John Deere and generic green cardstock.  I know this is masculine and probably shouldn't have a bow -- but I did a bow anyway -- I tried to make the bow as manly as I could. :-)

I combined the two challenges with this card as well.  Since taking this picture I added three little bling stickers to the lower left -- it seems to dress it up a bit more.  I think it still needs a little something -- still pondering what else it may need.  Not sure of where I bought the stamp or the paper.

This card is just the monochromatic challenge.  The hound dog stamp is from Stampin' Place.  I just love the look of this dog.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts -- the "Woof" is from Cloud9 Designs.

Wishing you all a Happy Easter.
