Good Sunday Evening --
Managed to get a couple of cards finished today. I had something pictured in my mind when I started these but ended up with them looking differently from what I wanted. My pictures didn't turn out as well this afternoon -- I tried taking them with my flash but it washed everything out -- then I took them without and they are a bit dark -- I'll have to take my pictures in good daylight. It was just one of those days. :-)
On the "Wild About You" card I moved the circle -- I didn't want the zebra's rump facing the sentiment -- I don't usually change the sketches around -- but this time I thought it would be okay.
Thanks for stopping by -- I know this is a busy time of year for all of us. I have to get busy this week -- I want to make a few cards and get my Christmas crafts going too.
Wishing you all a wonderful week!
I used scraps for this card - not sure of where the DP is from nor the stamps expect the sentiment stamp and it is from "Hot off the Press". The doily tag is from Martha Stewart.
The zebra stamp is from Stampers Best and the DP is from Bo Bunny - Zoology Collection. The sentiment I did on my computer.

December Challenge: Get Sentimental
Good Saturday afternoon -- it is a cold windy day here in the desert -- nice to be indoors and home. Although I have a stack of crafts to do for Christmas I decided to do a card today -- boy did it take me forever to get it done. I would try this color and that color (seems I didn't have the colors I wanted)-- finally just did basic beige and browns with just a bit of color with the ribbon and couple of little hearts. Thanks for stopping by -- it has been a while since I have made and posted cards for OWH -- we traveled to Northern California for the most of November to visit family and friends for Thanksgiving and oh there was my son's wedding the first part of November too -- so I've been a busy bee.
I used a Stamper's Best stamp for the sentiment. The music sheet stamp is from Recollections. The hearts were punched with an ek punch and the pearls are from Martha Stewart.

Stars & Stamps - Sketch Challenge 91
Good Evening --
Hope everyone had a good day. I've been busy bee -- a little bit of crafty things then baking, dinner cooked and kitchen cleaned up now a quick post to my blog to get a couple of the cards I did today. My pictures seem a little fuzzy -- I'll have to try and take pictures during daylight and see if that makes any difference.
The card with the bird - the DP is from DCWV - The Four Seasons Stack and the sentiment is from Hot Off the Press. I also added 3 little Blue Jay feathers I found on this summer travels.
The card with the flower - I used DP from Colorbook Pattern Pack, the sentiment is from Impression Obsession. I added some lace, green and pink ribbon then added 3 pearls from Martha Stewart.
Have a great week -- and thanks for stoppin' in.

Stars & Stamps Masculine Card Challenge
Good afternoon -- Thought I would try my hand at this today -- I need to make some more cards for OWH and some personal cards for birthdays etc. This card I made reminds me of when we lived in Idaho. I have a friend with a birthday coming up who lives in Idaho -- I am going to send him one -- hope he enjoys it.
I used generic kraft paper and the DP paper is from a Four Season Stack from DCWV. The digital image is from Piddix and the Sentiment is from Hero Arts.
Have a great afternoon and evening!

Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #90
Good Sunday afternoon -- thought I would get this posted before I stopped for some lunch. It is a beautiful day in the desert -- I'll have to go outside before I work on more cards.
This is a very easy sketch -- I am going to make some more cards today using this sketch and more images from Piddix (I'll put those on my blog later today). I want to get my cards off to OWH this next week -- the deadline for their Christmas Cards is fast approaching -- October 31st.
On my card today I used a digital image from Piddix and the green and holly paper are from Basicgrey their Wassail Greetings. The sentiment is from Hot off the Press. I added two black gems from Jolee's.
Thanks for stopping in -- have a great day!
I finished a couple more cards -- thought I would post these as well
This card I used a digital image from Piddix. The paper is from Minds Eye their Merry Days of Christmas and the sentiment is from Hot Off the Press. The snowflakes for both cards are from a Martha Stewart punch. The gems are from Jolee's.
This card I used a church stamp from an old stamp set that my sister gave me this summer. Thought she might enjoy knowing that they are being used. This stamp set is from Personal Stamp Exchange from 1993. I liked it because I could use my snowflake punch again. I think I am stuck on snow flakes and snowmen this year. :-) The paper is from Mind's Eye - Merry Days of Christmas and the sentiment is from Hot Off the Press.
Well -- I have to switch gears and go work on some Halloween Projects -- so I hope you have a fun rest-of-the-day!

OWH Sketch Challenge 89
Good Sunday afternoon -- it has been awhile since I've posted a card. It has been a fun but busy summer. It feels good to get back to participating in the Sunday Sketch Challenges.
I felt like doing something with snow but then I realized I don't have any snowman stamps or digis soooo I sketched a snowman to use on todays card. Then I wanted to outline him in silver and low and behold -- not a silver marker, gel pen or anything so I decided just to color his carrot nose and let it go at that. I used paper from a DCWV Christmas paper pad that a neighbor gave me last year. (She knew I like to make cards -- very lucky to have nice neighbors.) To make the snowflakes I used a punch from Martha Stewart. I used silver ribbon for the three strips.
Since I've been home I have done a couple of other cards for the state digi challenges but never posted them so I'll post them now too.
Enjoy the rest of today -- and thanks for stoppin' in.
I am so tickled Sandy was able to complete the Nevada Digi. I'll be taking the Any Hero Sheets over to the school district and show them what they helped accomplish. The Nevada Digi Card I tried to incorporate the state colors -- blue and silver. It turned out to be kind of a plain but that's okay -- I am going to use this for an Any Hero Card. I'll try my had at another one.
This was another state digi Sandy completed -- I did this one in Utah's colors too. Yellow and black. I'll use this one for an Any Hero Card too.

OWH Stars and Stamps Sketch Challenge #77
Good Sunday afternoon. This scketch was easy but again I struggle with what colors and what stamp. I dont' have many stamps that fit in a 1 1/2" circle. I also wanted to stay with the Fall theme to try and balance out my cards to send in for the OWH "Beat the Heat" Challenge. Once I figured out all of that -- it went together very fast. And for those of you participating in the "Beat the Heat" challenge--remember your cards need to be to your shippers on or before July 31st.
Here's my attempt at this weeks challenge. Thanks for stopping in and have a wonderful week.
I used Paperloft: Autum Blaze for the background - the circles I used generic cardstock except for the copper circle - I used Recollections.
The sentiment: Impression Obsession - Bountiful Harvest
The leaf stamp: Inkadinkado
Leaft Brads are by Impressions

OWH Stars & Stamps Midweek Christmas in July Challenge
Good Evening -- Hope everyone is having a good week. I decided to make the pinwheel that was part of this past weekend's challenge and Tuesday's Tutorial. I guess I am kinda fudging -- putting all three in one but I wanted to try my hand at the pinwheel and also participate in today's challenge. The weather was very hot and humid today so getting into the Christmas mood was not an easy task -- So here are my two attempts at Christmas in July using the pinwheel. Thanks for stopping in -- have a wonderful week.
Card 1: Background paper - Cosmo Cricket Oh Joy: Frosty; the pinwheel K&Company: Yuletide

OWH Stars and Stamps 4th of July Party Challenges and Challenge #76
Happy 4th of July and God Bless America! I hope everyone has had a safe and happy 4th. I am posting most of the challenge cards -- I still have some to make. I didn't start until yesterday (Sunday July 3rd) -- we were enjoying some of the 4th festivities on Saturday. This 4th Party Challenge was a challenge for me. Some of the items that were requested to be part or in the cards had me on a scavenger hunt in my craft room. I have a few stamps -- but it always seems the one you need is the one you don't have. Many of the items on the cards I made with the help of designer papers, pre-colored digis and stickers. It seemed it took me more time looking for the theme thinga-ma-bob than putting the card together -- but I enjoyed every minute. Thanks for those of you putting this challenge together.

OWH Stars and Stamps Wednesday Challenge and Sketch #75
Good Wednesday afternoon -- I decided to combine Sunday's Sketch #75 Challenge with today's challenge. I didn't get a chance until today to do the Sunday Challenge - I was busy making cards for a local dog shelter -- another cause that is near and dear to my heart. I made the Fall card -- without the bow and replacing it with a leaf embellishment. The 2nd card follows the sketch with the ribbon and bow but is isn't really fall -- not sure where it is in the spectrum of the seasons, more summer?
I like this sketch -- easy to do although I ended up making more scraps because I didn't have the colors in my scrap bin that I wanted to work with, so I'll just have to make more of these cards using these paper scraps. (smile)
The leaf paper for the Fall card is from The Paper Loft - Autumn Blaze, the orange and green are from cardstock scraps. The sentiment is from Impression Obsession, Shara Phelps Collection. The leaf sticker is from EKSuccess.
The 2nd cards I used paper from K&Company, Tim Coffey. The sentiment is from Clearartstamps.
Thanks for stopping in and taking a peek. This weekend's Independence Day Virtual Pary sounds like a lot of fun. Hope your planning to join the fun!?! Wishing you a good rest of the week.
Warm regards,
Sharon

OWH Stars and Stamps Sketch #74
Hello and hope everyone had a good Father's Day. I worked on a few cards using this new sketch. I did a western theme on my cards -- I'll post three of my cards. I had just gotten some new stamps and wanted to try them with this sketch. I think this sketch worked out well for these stamps. Let me know what think. Have a wonderful rest of the week and thanks for stoppin' in.

OWH Stars and Stamps Back To School Challenge & Starburst Tutorial
Good Wednesday evening. I thought I would do both the challenge and the tutorial all in one card -- so I did a starburst for my Back To School card. See what you think? Enjoy the rest of your week.
The paper with the "First Day of School" is from Sugar Tree - Steve's Pages. I used scraps for the starburst and the rest of the card. The apple sticker is from the Carol Wilson collection.
Thanks for stopping in.

OWH Stars and Stamps Sketch Challenge #73
Good Sunday afternoon. It is getting warmer here in the desert and we are lovin' it. I worked on a couple of cards today. The angle on this sketch was interesting - I think tomorrow I am going to do some more cards and try to use up the scraps I created today making these two cards :-)
The red, black and white card I used Jenni Bowlin Red /Black paper. The sentiment is a sticker from 7 Gypsies and I am unsure of the manufacturer of the bird image. The black cardstock was enhanced with a Martha Stewart lace punch. I added a button and a black feather for fun.
The fishin' card I used Karen Foster plaid paper for the bottom and the top I used paper from American Traditional Designs, Great Outdoors. The sentiment is a stamp from Impression Obsession, Inc. For fun on this card I added a real "fly hook" for the embellishment.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and have a fun crafting week.

OWH Stars & Stamps Sketch #72 Challenge
Good Sunday evening. Hope you are having a good day. I enjoyed doing the sketch today, Paula made a very color and cute card for our sample today. You can see it over at OWH Stars and Stamps Blog.
I was working with Jenni Bowlin's Classic Red/Black paper pad for another card I made so I decided to use some of the design papers in that collection for this challenge. The sentiment is from Clear At stamps.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday and this coming week. Thanks for stoppin' in. Now for my card.........

OWH Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge 71
My oh my -- I am still going through the bloghop -- so many wonderful cards to see. Thank you to all that stopped by and left me such kind words. I took a bit of break today to do a card for sketch 71 and it took me more time than I wanted to come up with color scheme, stamps, etc. Some days it just happens fast and easy -- today wasn't one of those days. My husband reminded me that's part of the fun of being creative, right? The sample card maker, Carolynn, did a wonderful job -- she made it look soooo easy. Anyway, on to my card.
The skectch is easy enough -- I just had a hard time picking papers and colors today. The black patterned paper is from Jenni Bowlin's ClassicRed/Black Paper Pad, the rest of the papers were all generic papers that I have in my stash of papers. The sentiment is from Stampendous and I don't know where I got the little bee stamp. The ribbon is from some scraps I have and the daisy flower is from Jolee's Boutique.
Please take a moment silence tomorrow (Monday, 5/30/11) at 3 pm and think about our fallen soldiers.
Have a good week and thanks for stopping in.
Thanks,
Sharon

OWH Memorial Day Weekend Blog Hop
Thanks for stopping in today for the bloghop -- this being Memorial Day weekend I wanted to start off my blog with a Memorial Day quote to provide inspiration and help honor this annual holiday.
My Memorial Day Weekend Bloghop "Miss You" card ....
And I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
---Lee Greenwo
My Memorial Day Weekend Bloghop "Miss You" card ....
If you would like to go to the beginning of the bloghop you may click the OWH Memorial Day Weekend Bloghop here........
I used the OWH Sketch 26 (see below) for the design. I made a couple of adjustments to the layout to accommodate this card but overall it is the same sketch. I used plain cardstock for the blue and the red paper is from Scrapworks. The patterned designer paper is from Jenni Bowlin Classic Red. The Bassett Hound stamp is from the Stampin' Place. I just think his or her expression says it all. The sentiment stamp is from Creative Stamping. I added three buttons and tied them on with some embroidery thread and there you have it.
If you have a minute before you leave I have listed below some ways to Observe Memorial Day --
- Adorning the graves of the soldiers with flags or flowers.
- Visiting cemeteries and memorials.
- Furling the American Flag at half-mast until noon.
- Fuling the 'POW/MIA Flag'.
- Keep silence for a minute at 3 p.m., 'National Moment of Remembrance' and listen to Taps being played.
- Take a pledge to aid the disabled veterans, widows, widowers and orphans of the dead and keep it.
- You may support the effors to restore the traditional day of observance of Memorial Day back to May 30th.
- Offering thanks to the veterans and appreciating the ultimate sacrifices of the soldiers to the bereaved families personally may help too.
Thanks for stopping in.
