OWH Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #114

Good Sunday Evening,

Hope everyone enjoyed your day.   My day was busy but filled with fun too.  I got started early today and made two cards this morning --- then on to do some laundry - then on to visiting some friends to share crafting ideas (we made Easter Bunnies, and flowers from various punches) - back home to fix dinner and visit with hubby and now on to posting today's challenge card.

I started working on the Muscle Card Challenge at OWH using today's sketch #114.  I made one card using the sketch - then my second card - I used some diamond background that I made last night - which was larger than what the sketch called for so I added some DP - I thought the argyle went with the '57 Chevy.  :-)

To make my diamond plate I repurposed the inside of my doggie treat bags.  The car stamps are from Rubber Meets the Road.  The card stock is from SU.  The racing flag brad is from EyeLet Outlet and the screw brads are from Karen Foster.  The DP is from my scrape pile.

Thanks for stopping in and have fun crafting this week.

OWH Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #113 and Tuesday's Tutorial and Wednesday's Challenge

Good Friday morning -

I am posting five cards today -- three are all fashioned after this weeks sketch #113 over at OWH.   I've added a few embellishments on those cards.  The third card I flipped and made a little adjustment to the layout - this card is for Tuesday tutorial - faux leather.

I tried the faux leather on the card with the old truck.  The technique is easy to do -- just a little time consuming putting the masking tape on.  I found the faux leather to be rather delicate - when I punched holes for my buttons my hole punch marked up the side -- so I tried to cover it with ink -- but it doesn't dry -- so I had to emboss a small section that had the boo boo -- but all in all I think it turned out the way it is supposed to look.

The fourth and fifth cards are for Wednesday's Throwdown Challenge at OWH.  The challenge was to use green and yellow on your card.

Thanks for stopping in -- I hope you all have a fun crafting weekend.

Sharon

This card is for Sunday's Challenge - sketch #113
I used Shitzu dog stamp from Dragonflylaser and the
DP is from Colorbok -  the polka dots paper is SU.
The yellow ribbon I bought a rummage sale - I got a
hug role for 50 cents - it is double sided satin - I love it
when I find a deal.  :-)    The butterfly punch is from
EK Success

This card is for the OWH Sketch Challenge # 113 too.  On this card I used a scrap  for the background  - the wide strip of letter paper is from  Graphic 45, the yellow polka dot paper is from SU.  The buttons are some more of my bargain hunting finds.  The doggie stamp is from RubberHedgehog Rubber Stamps.

This is my attempt at the faux leather.  This was Tuesday tutorial --  I used scraps fro the large strip and the narrow strip I took from an old dictionary that I purchased at a thrift shop.  The old rusty truck stamp is from Stamper's Best.
This card is for Wednesday's Throwdown Challenge - to use green and yellow on our cards.   I used all SU cardstock and the DP is from K&Company.  I also used the SU Framelits by Sizzix and the sentiment is SU.  The little leaves above and below the sentiment are from Hero Arts.
This card is also for Wednesday's Challenge.  With Father's Day coming I wanted to do something masculine.   The DP is from Sugar Tree.  The polka dot paper is SU.  The "dad" is from Studio g and the sentiment is from Hero Arts.  I used a trout fish stamp -- but I am not sure where I bought it from -- there was not mark on the stamp either.  I also used a real fly fishing hook on the from for an embellishment.

Midweek Throwdown Challenge at OWH Stars & Stamps

Good Friday Evening,

Just getting my Wednesday OWH Throwdown Challenge posted.  We've been having wonderful weather so I've been outdoors enjoying it.  This weekend it is going to get cooler and very windy -- so I'll be busy crafting.  I've included a picture of our little peach trees in bloom to share a little of our Spring here in the high desert.

This week's challenge over at OWH Stars & Stamps  was to make a "Miss You" card for our heroes.  I plan on making a few more to add to my box for OWH before mailing next week.

Enjoy the rest of this evening.

Sharon

I used OWH sketch #13 for this with some modification - instead of
squares I put hearts on and used SU framelits  to frame the sentiment
Heart Punch is from EK Success the DP is from Jennifer Bowlin Classic
Red/Black collection.  SU card stock  I put a little "Miss you" on the  red
heart -- It shows better in person.

OWH Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #112

Good Sunday Evening,

Hope everyone has had a good day --  Today's sketch was a challenge for me as I don't have any oval punches.  Then I remembered I had a bird rubber stamp that I have been wanting to use that is oval.  So I fussy cut out the oval for my cards.

I saw this stamp at Michael's along with a sample card to make.  So I copied some of the ideas from that sample using today's sketch and added a couple of touches of my own.

The first card I did in kraft, tans, off white, brown and black.  I actually made a boo boo on the bird oval -- I heat embossed the bird so that I could color the background with some lumiere acrylic paint but low and behold -- it turned out a bit too purple so I set it aside and made another embossed oval with the bird for the brown card.    Then after I finished the brown card -- I kept looking at my purple oval and thought -- why not make a purple card -- so below is the results.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sharon S.

Both card I used SU card stock; Bird Cage Stamp by Stampendous
The Bird oval is by Hampton Art.  The polka dot is
from Studio 45.  I used SU smooch spritz sprays pearl
and bronze.  MS pearl accents and I made the hat pins
from straight pins and beads.

Midweek Throwdown Challenge at OWH Stars & Stamps

Good Friday Afternoon --

Wow my second post this week and another fun challenge.  I've been doing my best to keep up with these challenges -- besides making the cards -- just keeping up with the posting is a huge challenge for me.  :-)

For some reason -- I just couldn't get going on Mother's Day Cards this week.  I was having a tough time coming up with anything I really liked -- I did make three cards and I was stuck on pink -- as you will see.

I had something in my mind when I started each one of these and they all turned out different from what I had envisioned.

Thanks for stopping in.

Sharon

I used SU Designer collection and card stock,
SU Polka Dots embossing folder by Sizzix along
with SU Sizzix Framelits die cut.  Sentiment is
Hero Arts.  Misc ribbon and a bit of bling.

I used SU Framed Tulips Folder, SU Framelits die cut.  Sentiment
is from Inkadinkado.  I don't know who is the  maker of
the Cherry Blossom Stamp.

I used two SU flower punches, ribbon punch and bird punch using
only the branches.  I also used SU Framelits die cut by Sizzix.  The
Sentiment is from Hero Arts along with the bling near the sentiment.
The DP is from Colorbok and the card stock is from SU.

March Challenge for OWH Tic-Tac-Toe

Good Thursday Evening,

The March ODBD Challenge for OWH Stars & Stamps Blog this month is to choose three items like Tic-Tac-Toe.  You can pick a row vertically, horizontally or diagonally from this chart.  I chose horizontally on the last row - Die cut, Fun fold, and Ribbon.

TIC-TAC-TOE
Three in a Row
Brads

Piercing
Stripes

Digi stamp

Layers

Embossing

Die cut
Fun fold
Ribbon

This card is my first attempt at any kind of different fold with a card.  I did a Garden Gate fold and used Framelits die cut from SU by Sizzix.  I also used two different SU flower punches and a bird punch using the branch and wings for leaves.  The DP is SU Everyday Enchantment and their Designer Neutrals Collection.  The sentiment is from Stampers Best.   The heart is from and EK Success punch.  The ribbon is some I have had in my stash of ribbons along with misc. buttons.

Thanks to ODBD for sponsoring this fun challenge.

Thanks for stopping in and have a great rest of the week.

Sharon

This is a view of the inside of the card.  I put a die cut on the inside to
match the outside die cut and it gives a person an area to write on the
card.

OWH Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #111

Good Sunday Afternoon,

Here is my card for this Sunday's Sketch challenge at OWH Stars and Stamps.  My card is very simple today -- not sure if I want to add anything more to it.  I guess you would put this in a CAS realm?   I want to do some more cards using this sketch -- nice way to use up some of my paper scraps.

I also want to ask that we keep the folks that are suffering from the recent tornadoes in our thoughts and prayers.

May you all have a blessed crafting week.

Sharon

The DP is from Graphics 45.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.  The fence punch is
from Martha Stewart.   I used SU card stock and Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder on the black.
The watermark stamped pine branch is from Impression Obsession.  The two birds are from
I Brake for Stamps.  I added a one little bit of bling.
