OWH Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #110

Good Monday Morning

Been busy trying to figure out this sketch on Sunday.   I only made two cards yesterday --  the first one didn't turn out so well and took me forever-- couldn't get the mo-jo going so I went outside enjoyed the sunshine and decided to work on another after dinner and  made this card for this week's challenge.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Thanks for stopping in.

Sharon

I used SU bird punch and card stock. The sentiment is also from SU
Language of Friendship stamp and the background SU Fresh Vintage stamp.
I recycled my Starbucks coffee cuff and made the bird.  The pearls and scallop
punch are from MS.  The ribbon I purchased from Ben Franklin while visiting
my daughter in Northern CA this past summer.

OWH Midweek Throwdown Challenge

Good Saturday afternoon,

I've been working on Mother's Day cards for Operation Write Home (OWH) today.  I made this card for the mid week throwdown challenge but just getting it posted today.   Thought I better get to crackin' and get some more cards made so I can send them in for the Mother's Day Challenge due March 20th.   This challenge is to send in cards with half Mother's Day and the other half with themes and this will help the shippers get Mother's Day cards out a bit earlier so our heroes get them in plenty of time to mail home to all those special Mom's.  The regular deadline for Mother's Day is March 31st.

Have a good rest of the day.

It seems I am stuck on fussy cards this week -- I used SU card stock and polka dot paper
The Rose designer paper is from scraps that I had-- it is the last of this paper and I don't
have a clue what brand.  I wish I did -- I would like to get more.   I added a couple of fluffy feathers, MS pearls.
The sentiment is from my computer using the font Zapfino

OWH Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #109

Good Monday Evening,

Hope everyone has had a good President's Day weekend.  I was busy with the sketch -- tried 3 different variations.  I thought I would try one of Doodle Pantry's digis.  They sure have a great selection and it is sure nice of them sponsoring this weeks challenge.  I found a couple I liked and purchased.  Well, I have a new iMac (I was a PC person before) and I guess I am technically challenged or I don't have the right software. I did manage to get one digi printed and reduced small enough that I could use on a card -- it still larger than I wanted but I said, enough is enough -- and just used what I finally got printed.  So I finished that card up today.  It is a bit fussy -- and a challenge to do but still fun.

Enjoy the rest of the week and thanks for stoppin' in.  I would also like to say thank you for all nice comments I've received on previous posts.  I know it takes time to visit but it is so nice to get the feedback.

Thanks again,

Sharon

I call this card my fussy card -- I used a digi from Doodle Pantry - Fancy Shoes.
The DP is from old stash I've had it is by Deborah Rogers called Antique Shoes - Tea Bag Squares.
The sentiment -- I don't have a clue -- I have a set but they are separated from any ID as to who they are from.
I used an old small doily that I found on one of my treasure hunts in a thrift shop - I made the two stick pins I
used for the embellishment.

The mare and foal stamp is from SU as well as the brad and the punch I used for the flower.
The sentiment is from Hero Arts.  The DP is from Cosmo Cricket - their Wanted series.   The card
stock is from SU.

This card I tried to make French Country -- the stamp is from Dragonfly Laser.
The DP is from Colorbok -- the sentiment is made from an Alpha set by Studio g.

OWH Stars & Stamps Midweek Throwdown Challenge

Good afternoon,

I really enjoyed seeing all the wonderful cards with this past Sunday's sketch challenge.   Our Hero's will love getting all of them.

This challenge is to use the colors green, blue and kraft or tan making our Hero's cards.

I thought I would participate in today's challenge using a new set of stamps that I purchased from SU.  While I was looking around in my stash of stuff to make the card for today's challenge -- low and behold I found a set of stamps I purchased at the Salvation Army in Idaho about 4 years ago.  The stamps have a date of 1997 --   I liked them but never really used them -- wasn't sure what to do with them as they are very long.  Once I saw them today  -- I thought, "these would work with this Sunday's sketch".    So I made three cards using 3 of the 4 stamps for this challenge.  Then  I  made another card with my new SU stamps.

For all the cards -- the DP is from SU, the two sentiments stamped on the blue are from Hero Arts, all other stamps and sentiments are from SU

Hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week.  Thanks to all of you for stopping in.

Sharon

Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #108

Good Sunday Afternoon,

Hope everyone is doing well -- I enjoyed this past week's Virtual Card Making Party.  I hope you did too.  I didn't finish all of the challenges -- but still had fun doing those that I did complete.

I like today's sketch -- I think it is a very easy sketch to do.  I made this card real simple  -- I used a Stampin' Up (Kanji) stamp set  and the Designer Paper is from K & Company, with a couple of scraps of card stock.

Thanks for stopping in -- hope you have a wonderful week!

Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #107

Good Sunday and Superbowl afternoon,

Hope everyone is enjoying today.  I worked on three cards this afternoon, two for today's sketch challenge and a CAS card.  After going through the Clean and Simple Skip this morning  -- I was inspired to try a CAS (clean and simple) card.

Between working on my cards and blog I've been running to see the commercials during the game.  Anyone else doing the same?  I hope to work on some more this evening too.

Thanks for stopping by -- enjoy the rest of today and have a fun crafting week.

Sharon

P.S.  For some reason this afternoon -- I wasn't able to download a copy of the sketch -- I'll keep trying -- At times I am so technically challenged with my blog.   I'll at least post the cards  :-)

The puppy and kitten stamp are from Dragon Fly Laser stamps the sentiment is
from Hero Arts and the DP and brad are from Stampin' Up.

On this card I turned the sketch around and moved the ribbon to the
other side.  I used a stamp from Dog Stamps Plus.  The DP is from Stampin' Up
as well as the small frame embosser and sentiment.

This my attempt at a CAS (clean and simple) card.  I used a diamond plate embossing folder
by Cuttlebug for the background.  I did some recycling and embossed on the inside of a bag that
holds my dog's chews.  I think it looks almost like real diamond plate.  I attached the bag material
to some inexpensive card stock first before embossing.  I used some scrap DP for a little color and
added some screw brads from Karen Foster.  This card is for a friend of ours who  loves diamond plate
and jeeps.
